The Wine Route: Bordeaux & Alsace

Can’t decide whether you prefer a French Bordeaux or an Alsatian Riesling? With this tour, you don’t have to. Start in the UNESCO World Heritage site of the city of Bordeaux (also known as the Sleeping Beauty due to enjoying less popularity than Paris and other French cities) where you will enjoy a walking tour of all the sights the city has to offer, from Saint Andrews Cathedral to the Monument of the Girondins. As well as the history of the Bordeaux region, you will sample the products of its renowned wine-producing villages, from the complex Merlots of Saint Émilion to the Cabernet Sauvignons from the Chateaux and wineries of the Medoc region. To contrast you’ll then have the delight of staying in the quaint, canal peppered city of Strasbourg, which will be your launchpad for exploring the sloping valleys and vineyards of the Alsatian wine region, famed for its Rieslings, Pinot Gris, Sparkling Crémant, Sylvaner, and many more.
