The hotel Il Sirenuse is a luxury villa dating from the 18th century and owned by the Marchesi Sersale family, who first opened their sumptuous residence to guests in 1951. Perched in the steep coastal town of Positano with a superb view of the beach, the serene elegance and delicate Mediterranean style are the hallmarks of this unique accommodation, considered to be one of the best on the Amalfi Coast for its refined architecture and careful attention to detail. The terraces overlooking the sea are lush with tropical plants and flowering vines, and between their leaves guests can soak in the view of the bay and its islands, the Baroque homes of central Positano climbing down the cliffside, and the majolica-tiled dome of the Chiesa Madre. The pool terrace is the largest of the hotel's many outdoor spaces, and in the summer also offers a poolside café and outdoor tables for the restaurant. The sundeck is lined with large potted lemon trees and comfortable chaise lounges to relax and bask in the sun. In the background, the arched dining room ceiling is covered with bright bougainvillea.
