Château de la Messardière is a magnificent 5-star palace with a long history that goes back to the Frankish leader Charles Martel. Throughout the centuries it passed through the hands of various owners, until 1989 when it was restored and turned into a hotel four years later. The property is surrounded by a 25-acre Mediterranean park filled with the sweet fragrance of pines and eucalyptus and home to protected plant species and a bird reserve.
There’s a large heated mirror pool with solarium to make the most of the sun while admiring the views over the bay of Saint Tropez, while the soft golden sand of the Tropezina private beach is just a free shuttle ride away. Guests can stretch out muscles at the on-site gym equipped with cutting-edge Technogym machineries and then pop into the relaxation lounge next door complete with a magnificent indoor pool, jacuzzi and hammams. Relaxation continues in the Chateau’s spa offering the ultimate wellbeing experience immersed in mosaics, carved stone vaults and precious fabrics. On the menu are a wide range of face and body treatments and massages, as well as hairdresser services for post-beach hair care.
The hotel offers a series of fine eateries: at lunch, A Ciel Ouvert serves a delectable selection of grilled fish and meats, as well as sinful sugary pleasures at tea time, then in the evening guests can dine on the panoramic terrace of L’Acacia, with a menu of gourmet Mediterranean dishes to wash down with one of the 400 wines available. There are also a couple of bars to cool off with a refreshing drink during a hot day or sip a couple of nightcaps under the starry sky of Saint-Tropez.
Before heading home, guests can take a look at the marvellous artworks on display at the international art gallery hosted inside the Chateau and browse the hotel’s boutique to pick out great souvenirs among the casual wear, jewellery and accessories on sale.
The Château offers a selection of rooms boasting a variety of views from their window, terrace, or balcony, as well as a number of suites with a lovely Provencal décor and exceptional tailored services. Some bathrooms come with a bath, separate shower and double sinks. The Duplex villa has three bedrooms (each with its own bathroom), a living room, a dining room and guests’s own swimming pool.
