The Vatican Museums abound with Jewish symbols and with this 4-hour tour you will learn interesting facts and curious stories of the Jewish connections hidden behind the major artworks on display. You will be guided through ancient marble statues, magnificent tapestries and mesmerizing geographical maps before reaching the Sistine Chapel, whose famous frescoed ceiling is considered to be the greatest individual artistic achievement in history. You will also see the famous Raphael’s rooms with the incredible frescoes realized by Italian Renaissance master Raphael Sanzio. Next, you will access the St. Peter’s Basilica to admire its majestic architecture and exquisite sacred works of art through a Jewish lens, including Bernini’s Baldachin and Michelangelo’s Pietà. The Basilica opens onto the beautiful Piazza San Pietro, where the tour will end.
