After boarding at the port of Sorrento, you’ll reach Castellammare di Stabia, where a bus will take you to Pompeii. Once a bustling Roman town, Pompeii was completely destroyed by the eruption of mount Vesuvio in 79 AD but its natural preservation under the volcanic material turned the town into a vast archeological site offering a fascinating look into daily life back then. After the guided visit, you’ll get to enjoy a traditional lunch and local wines in a vineyard on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, followed by a visit to the volcano’s crater. The trip back to Sorrento will be all relaxation, with time for swimming along the coast.
